Introduction of new FIFA referee Jan Valasek

Ján Valášek came to light as the new FIFA referee so let us introduce him briefly. Jan Valášek is 32 years old and he was born in Žilina. He graduated at University of Žilina as a Doctor of Philosophy.

Ján Valášek began his football career when he was 6 as the player of ZVL Žilina. As the player of Kysucké Nové Mesto in a 2nd Slovak national league he decided to quit active career. He took first whistle as a football referee took in 1996 when he was 19. Several years later, in 2005 Ján Valášek got a chance to referee the first match in a Slovak national league between Dubnica and Ružomberok. Untill now he has had an opportunity to referee 33 matches at this level.

Last year in Israel Ján Valášek got a first international experience as the fourth referee where he traveled with Vladimír Hriňák for the match between Hapoel Tel Aviv and IFK Goteborg.

According to Slovak Referee Commitee decision Ján Valášek has an opportunity to represent Slovak referee´s school as the FIFA referee. In the beginnig of February he is planning to participate in his first UEFA referee´s workshop which takes place in Malta.
