After the 2 years break, the Slovak women´s referees workshop started with the speech of Dusan Krchňák, Head of Slovak Referee Committee, who was talking about the perspectives and the possibilities in women refereeing.

During 2 days workshop 17 women´s referees had an opportunity to get to know a lot of useful information from the Referee Committee Members and from the lecturers.

Jozef Marko prepared helpful lecture from the Laws of the Game. Mr. Marko focused on one of the most important ability of each referee, the ability to „read the game“. He emphasised that the prediction of the game can make refereeing easier and at the same time avoid mistakes.

Psychological preparation before the match and management of stress situations during the match is another element in a referee´s career. Therefore Mr. Kramár who is the sport psychologist prepared very interesting lecture for our women referees and the theoretical part linked with practical demonstration.

The second day continued with the lecture of Mr. Hianik who participates in condition training of Slovak referees. Mr. Hianik emphasized the importance of good physical preparation for the referees.

During this meeting women´s referees had an opportunity to analyze videos from Slovak 1st and 2nd league and the decisons of the referees.

Part of the workshop was the test which could verify theoretical preparation of women referees. As Mr. Jakubec, Referee Committee Member, concluded from the results there is still knowledge that has to be improved.

In conclusion we would like to thank the Referee Committee which organised women´s referee workshop and we are looking forward to the next one.
